This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend appropriate solutions. They are also expected to promptly resolve customer concerns, ensure maximum client satisfaction, stay up-to-date with product features, and maintain high quality and visual standards of the products and store. The role involves achieving excellent customer service while meeting sales goals.

This position is eligible for benefits such as prescription savings, virtual physician visits, retirement plans, and more. Additional benefits include generous time off, including vacation, holidays, and military leave.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. To protect the business and its operations, a review of criminal history is required.

The selected individual will work at Store #3083, located at 5338 159th Street, Oak Forest, IL 60452, and may be asked to assist in nearby locations such as Oak Lawn, Palos Heights, Burbank/Justice, and Alsip stores. This is a part-time role with a starting pay of $16.40 per hour.

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and presenting suitable products.
  • Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and in accordance with policies.
  • Achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas.
  • Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse as needed.
  • Tint and mix products according to customer specifications.
  • Stock shelves and set up displays.
  • Clean store equipment.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks and assist with deliveries.
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable areas.
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers.
  • Follow inventory control procedures.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
  • Experience selling paint and related products.
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
