We are seeking a Logistics 3PL Operations Management Specialist to oversee and optimize the performance of a key third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse provider in the UK. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality service delivery across our Consumer Brands Group (CBG) and Protective & Marine (P&M) divisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations, improving service quality, and enhancing communication between internal stakeholders and the 3PL provider. The position is based in the North of the UK with an ideal location being around Sheffield or Bolton / Manchester. The position will report to the Regional Logistics Manager.

Main responsibilities and duties include:

  • Warehouse Operations Oversight (40%)
    • Monitor and improve inbound/outbound processes, picking accuracy, pallet presentation, and load safety.
    • Address and resolve issues related to damages, incorrect quantities/products/pack sizes, and poor packing standards.
    • Ensure compliance with sanitation, pest control, and inventory control standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Coordination (20%)
    • Act as the liaison between Sherwin-Williams divisions (CBG and P&M) and the 3PL provider.
    • Harmonize expectations and service levels across divisions to eliminate communication gaps.
  • System & Data Management (20%)
    • Support integration and reconciliation between 3PL’s WMS/TMS and SW’s Oracle R12 systems.
    • Ensure accurate data flow and reporting between Sherwin-Williams and the 3PL provider.
  • Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement (15%)
    • Improve and track KPIs to measure service quality and operational efficiency.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving and service-enhancing initiatives.
  • Facility & Relationship Management (5%)
    • Collaborate with 3PL leadership and site management to address facility-related issues.
    • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Role requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of working with 3PL’s in diverse modes of transportation & warehousing inclusive of specialistic knowledge on logistics infrastructure and equipment.
  • Technical and functional knowledge/expertise on warehouse flows & procedures, warehouse setup & WMS.
  • Experience in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operationalizing their use as standard operating practice at 3PL.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Display excellent business judgment and initiative in considering one or more variables, restrictions, alternatives, and conflicting objectives to solve unusual, non-routine problems.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Financial acumen and ability to interpret operational data.
  • Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or 3PL management.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse best practices, inventory control, and logistics infrastructure.
  • Strategic influencing skills, curious, independent, and humble learner willing to push, test, fail, learn, reiterate, and share.
  • Proven track records of multidivisional, matrix and regional working averment.
  • Experience in implementing Supply chain/process business transformation projects using ERP platform is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience working with WMS/TMS systems, preferably Blue Yonder and Oracle R12 preferred.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
  • Advanced English language proficiency both written and oral is mandatory.
