HR Advisor – Sheffield Manufacturing Site
As our HR Advisor based at our Sheffield manufacturing site, you will be responsible for providing HR advisory services on policy and process, acting as the first point of contact for queries from employees and managers. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of employee lifecycle events and relevant employment legislation. This role is perfect for an HR Advisor with strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication, and a passion for advising and guiding in collaboration with the wider regional HR team.
HR Employee Lifecycle Advisory & Administration
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers on all HR-related queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses in line with service level agreements.
- Advise on HR policies, processes, and activities, including recruitment & onboarding, promotions, transfers, secondments, benefits, attendance, and leave procedures, supporting managers and employees with process execution.
- Prepare and issue employee lifecycle documentation such as new hire, promotion, and termination letters.
- Signpost queries and escalate to HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and other HR Centres of Expertise to ensure appropriate support and excellent customer experience.
- Support the execution of annual performance and compensation programs, including bonuses, merit increases, appraisals, and goal setting.
- Contribute to the development of people process policies, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.
- Ensure service efforts are accurately reflected in the ServiceNow case management system, with timely processing of service requests in line with SLAs.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships within the business and the wider HR community.
- Provide backup support to HR Shared Services colleagues, including HR system data entry, offer letter approval, data corrections, and employee file maintenance in OnBase.
Benefit Scheme Education & Communication
- Serve as the central point of contact for employee queries regarding benefit entitlements, ensuring alignment with country policies and employment terms, including retirement, medical, life insurance, and wellbeing schemes.
- Support communication and education initiatives to raise awareness of benefit schemes and promote participation as part of the total rewards package.
Employee Relations Support
- Assist the HR Employee Relations Manager with case management, providing advice on policies, procedures, and employment legislation related to performance, attendance, disciplinary, and grievance issues.
- Create and maintain accurate records for employee relations cases and ensure timely communication with employees.
- Maintain data accuracy for HR metrics such as absence, headcount, and case volume, and report on trends to HR Business Partners.
- Support decision-making on HR policy requests like flexible working and parental leave.
- Assist with organizational change processes, including restructuring, redundancy, and redeployment.
Continuous Improvement & Project Support
- Support HRSS process reviews and redesigns using LEAN methodologies to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitization of HR processes and assist in project implementation.
- Participate in regional HR projects such as policy development, talent initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and HR system implementations.
Training & Communication
- Guide employees and managers on navigating HR self-service platforms and communication tools.
- Maintain and update HR communication platforms to ensure information accuracy.
- Promote the use of HR self-service tools across the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of HR regulations, employment law, and GDPR.
- Proven customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Solid understanding of HR policies and employee lifecycle events.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in HR advisory or generalist roles.
- Experience in HR Shared Services or global business environments.
- Experience working in a global matrix organization.
- Knowledge of HR systems such as Oracle and Ceridian.
