The predicted salary is between 18000 - 25000 £ per year.

To work safely in compliance with site rules and HSE legislation. The apprentice will work as part of the Maintenance & Engineering team. The apprentice will learn the fundamental knowledge required to safely perform maintenance on all assets on site. The hands-on experience will complement the course content to ensure the apprentice gains experience of all theoretical principles studied. You will develop the skills, knowledge and experience required to support the smooth running of the site by assisting with the maintenance, repair and improvement of machinery, equipment and engineering systems.

The apprentice will work alongside qualified engineers and the maintenance team while completing a recognised apprenticeship programme. Taking a proactive approach to Environment, Health and Safety, working under the site's Permit To Work, Lock Out Tag Out and Risk Assessment systems, when trained to do so. Working within a highly regulated, upper-tier COMAH site, only under direct supervision by a competent Technician/Engineer.

  • Maintaining equipment and working within an ATEX/DSEAR environment.
  • Maintaining and fault finding DCS and PLC systems.
  • Maintenance and fault identification on Low Voltage (up to 415 vac) electrical installations, switch gear and distribution systems.
  • Predictive/reactive maintenance of site assets, mechanical and electrical.
  • Working to the requirements of BS7671 Wiring Regulations (Latest edition).
  • To undertake site service electrical/mechanical maintenance and installation duties as scheduled.
  • To accurately complete job records on the Computer Maintenance Management System so that data/trends can be compiled.
  • To identify and implement continuous improvements projects.
  • To continually self-audit practices and processes, initiating change where able.
  • Where applicable, to assist with projects including conception of ideas, installation and commissioning, monitoring and maintaining.
  • To be aware of machine efficiencies to ensure that they are performing at optimum levels.
  • To put forward improvement recommendations to plant, equipment and working practices where identified.
  • Is prepared to undertake training in a positive manner both for self-development and for the provision of departmental cover.
  • Encourages and develops a team culture both within own team and across the company.
  • Achievement of effective communication both within own team and between teams.
  • Any other duties in keeping with the post at the direction of your Manager.

Formal Education:

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above
