Salary - £45,000 per annum

We are looking for self-motivated, proactive and passionate Sous Chef to join our team.

What we offer:

  • £45,000 per annum + Service Charge
  • Permanent, full-time contract (40hrs per week)

As Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef and Senior Sous Chef in the leadership of the Kitchen from dish and menu creation, wage control, food cost, team management, compliance and cleanliness to ensuring consistency and quality of food throughout The Shepherd Mayfair.

Responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the Kitchen in the absence of the Executive and Senior Sous Chef, including stepping in for them in leadership meetings and meeting Kitchen deadlines.
  • Providing feedback and ideas in the creation of dishes for the various outlets that are on-brand, reflect the market of The Shepherd Mayfair and are profitable.
  • Being relentless in the detail – quality of the product placed on the plate, wage control, wastage and food cost.
  • Supporting, mentoring and teaching the Kitchen team so they develop and become future leaders.
  • Ensuring that the Kitchen culture is accountable, attentive and positive, celebrating success while addressing poor performance immediately with grace and authenticity.
  • Supporting the Team in managing Kitchen compliance and cleanliness.
  • Leading and ensuring there is a culture within the Kitchen of Food Hygiene and Safety.

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
