The Shepherd Mayfair is a new hotel located in the heart of Mayfair, London, offering a unique entryway into one of the city’s most prestigious neighbourhoods. Designed as a modern lifestyle mansion, it combines contemporary luxury with authentic charm, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

We are currently recruiting for a Back of House Supervisor to join our team. As Back of House Supervisor, you will lead the Stewarding team to ensure the cleanliness of primarily the Kitchen, Pastry Kitchen, and other kitchen-related areas, with the added responsibility of being Goods Receiver. You will report to the Executive Chef and Senior Sous with a dotted line to the Finance Manager and must have had previous Back of House/Stewarding leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Back of House/Stewarding team to ensure cleanliness of all kitchen-related spaces and communicate any maintenance needs immediately.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train all members of the stewarding team, providing them with the tools for successful and efficient department operation.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory People and Culture trainings and conduct regular audits for Fire Life Safety, Health and Safety.
  • Keep accurate records on cutlery and crockery stock, including completing a monthly audit and communicating findings.
  • Receive all goods that arrive at the hotel, ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and communicating any discrepancies.
  • Manage departmental costs, ensuring scheduling and resources are dispatched accordingly to support operational performance.
  • Foster a positive culture within stewarding, kitchen, and The Shepherd Mayfair.
  • Communicate directly with suppliers and contractors to support departmental operations.
