Transforming Lives Through Learning
Due to exciting growth and expansion of our King's Trust Programme, we are looking for passionate, energetic, and inspiring individuals to join our Kings Trust Team Programme within the college. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a life-changing programme that supports young people to build confidence, develop employability skills, improve wellbeing, and create positive futures either within the college or in a community setting. We will be holding an Information Event on 10th June 6:00pm - 7.30pm. This is a drop-in event and staff will be on hand to answer any questions and talk to you about the college and the King's Trust.
About the Kings Trust Team Programme
The Kings Trust Team Programme is a 12-week personal development programme designed to support young people aged 16-25 who may be:
- disengaged from education or employment
- lacking confidence or direction
- facing barriers to learning
- experiencing social, emotional, or personal challenges
- looking to improve their future opportunities
The programme combines:
- team-building activities
- community projects
- employability and enterprise skills
- work experience opportunities
- residential experiences
- confidence and wellbeing development
- English and maths support
- progression planning

About the Role
As part of the college team, you will work directly with young people within community and college settings to deliver engaging, supportive, and meaningful learning experiences. You will motivate learners, build positive relationships, and help young people overcome barriers while supporting them towards education, employment, training, or volunteering opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and expand provision within the local community while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking college environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Improving and maintaining the quality of the curriculum provision so that it is rated at least "Good" by Ofsted or self-assessed to be at least "Good" by the College.
- Improving student outcomes so that pass rates are maintained at or above National Rates.
- Developing and maintaining a relevant, future-focused curriculum offer that meets local and regional needs/priorities.
- Leading on the delivery of a high-quality student experience within your Curriculum Area, resulting in outstanding achievement, progression and employability outcomes for all students.
- Ensuring an academic culture that blends high expectations, innovation and respect.
- Providing outstanding operational educational leadership in the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of the curriculum and of the student experience.
- Implementing and embedding operational plans for your Curriculum Area that drive quality improvement and ensure that staff can flourish and deliver academic excellence in teaching and learning.
- Work with the Academy Director to develop and deliver the Curriculum Development Plan that will drive curriculum development, quality improvement and develop teaching and learning throughout your curriculum area.
- Support the development and embed a relevant and innovative curriculum offer that focuses on student progression and destinations.
- Developing and implementing new curriculum, where appropriate, in-line with local and national priorities and to meet demand.
- Deliver provision that is inclusive and raises aspirations and secures achievement beyond expectations.
- Oversee the assessment strategy for programmes in your area, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of assessment, using findings to instigate change and enhance the curriculum.
- Where required, take the role of Lead IV for programmes to ensure that the rules of the awarding organisation are followed, standardisation activities are followed and EQA visits are effectively planned for and managed.
- Supporting the Academy Director and working with other Curriculum managers to ensure all study programme students within the Academy meet the conditions of funding.
- Undertake teaching responsibilities, that includes cover, of 300 hours.
- Ensure that college systems and processes are implemented effectively, including the implementation of relevant college strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legal duties.
- Supporting the Academy Director to develop the annual business plan and providing effective information for the college business reviews.
- To deliver value for money by taking day-to-day responsibility for the efficient and effective deployment of resources.
- Providing day-to-day management for the curriculum area and its staff, ensuring that there is a solutions-focused and supportive culture and clear direction.
- Deputising for the Academy Director if and when required and representing the college at events as required.
- As a member of the Academy Leadership Team, you will work closely with other members of that team to deliver The Sheffield College's strategy and objectives.

What we can offer you
As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £45,182 - £48,748 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
