The Sheffield College is a further and higher education institution dedicated to providing academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 13,000 young people and adults annually. The purpose of this role is to manage and be responsible for a caseload of apprentices and work-based learners, taking them on a successful and exciting journey to achieve their planned learning programme within the targeted timeframe. Post holders will be required to liaise effectively between College Academy staff, employers and the learner to ensure the achievement of a full apprenticeship programme and other work-based programmes in a timely and professional manner, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
Applicants must have the following:
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical science or NVQ Level 3 Diploma in pharmacy service skills or equivalent with underpinning knowledge
- Current registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Hold an assessor qualification such as TAQA
Main Responsibilities:
- The initial assessment and the development of individual learning plans
- The development of a scheme of work for an apprenticeship programme, visiting apprentices on the job, planning and delivering high quality off-the-job training including qualifications where required
- Support and assessment of the apprenticeship programme, and preparation for end point assessment
- Support the development of apprentices' English, Maths and ICT skills and work closely with all parties to ensure apprentices are fully engaged with their learning, stretched and able to achieve their goals
- Tracking and monitoring the progress of the apprentice is essential in order to secure achievement of the programme
- Use the College's e-portfolio system
- Take part in quality monitoring and continuous quality improvement activities as outlined in the Quality policy
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to assist and support with completion of all relevant documentation and provide the link between college and employer
- Promote the take up of apprenticeships, work-based programmes and commercial courses in line with the College Growth Strategy
As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £34,801 - £40,192 per annum (this will be pro rata'd to reflect the hours worked) based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
