About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking curriculum leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Principal for Young People (Curriculum Strategy & Planning). This role is central to shaping a coherent, progressive and future-focused curriculum offer for young people across the College.
You will lead on curriculum alignment, qualification reform and strategic planning, ensuring pathways, progression routes and curriculum structures are consistent, inclusive and aligned to sector needs and the Skills Guarantee. Working closely with Academy Directors and other senior leaders, you'll influence curriculum intent, strengthen planning processes and support improved learner outcomes, progression and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead qualification reform implementation and ensure curriculum alignment across all Young People provision.
- Coordinate curriculum planning, mapping and alignment to create coherent pathways and progression routes.
- Support Academy Directors to interpret and deliver curriculum intent in line with strategic direction and sector priorities.
- Analyse performance, progression and destination data to inform SLT-level decision-making.
- Lead cross-college curriculum development activity and ensure readiness for new or revised qualifications.
- Support and challenge curriculum leaders to strengthen curriculum design and planning.
- Work closely with the Assistant Principal for Curriculum Delivery & Quality to ensure seamless curriculum design, implementation and learner experience.
- Contribute to SLT projects, committees, people leadership processes and cross-college working groups.
- Participate in safeguarding responsibilities, open days, enrolment and the duty manager rota.
About You
- Significant senior-level curriculum leadership experience, including curriculum design, planning and alignment.
- Proven experience delivering curriculum change or qualification reform across multiple areas.
- Skilled in mapping curriculum, pathways and progression to ensure coherent provision.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to shape planning and improve outcomes.
- Experienced leader with a track record of developing others and building leadership capacity.
- Degree-level qualification plus teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of FE curriculum, qualification reform, funding and Ofsted requirements.
- Committed to modelling and embedding the Colleges FREDIE+ values.

What we can offer you
As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £61,591 - £71,401 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
