About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and values-driven senior curriculum leader to join our Senior Leadership Team. As Assistant Principal for Adults, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering our Adult, ESOL, Employability and Community Learning provision. You will lead designated Academy Directors, ensure high-quality and consistent curriculum delivery, drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, and secure sustained improvements in outcomes, retention, attendance and overall learner experience. This is both a strategic and operational leadership role ideal for someone who thrives on influencing direction, building capability, and ensuring outstanding delivery across diverse Adult programmes aligned to local and regional skills needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality curriculum delivery aligned to Adult learner needs, employer demand and qualification requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of Adult Skills Fund (ASF) requirements and ensure full compliance with funding and regulatory expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment across Adult provision.
  • Deliver sustained improvements in retention, attendance, achievement and learner experience.
  • Provide leadership, support and challenge to Academy Directors and other designated leaders.
  • Build leadership capacity across teams through coaching, mentoring and high-quality performance management.
  • Oversee curriculum design for Adult Skills, ESOL, Employability and Community Learning (where applicable).
  • Strengthen progression pathways into employment, further study or higher education.
  • Lead Adult-focused quality assurance processes including moderation, standardisation and internal verification.
  • Work with external agencies, awarding bodies and community partners to ensure high-quality, inclusive and compliant provision.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, cross-college working and the delivery of college-wide priorities as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

What we can offer you

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £61,591 - £71,401 per annum, based upon the skills, knowledge and experience you bring to the role.
