About the role

We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves, and our learners and this role will be a key one in supporting the college's mission to be consistently great and ensure our students get the qualifications and skills they need to go further in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training, and university level courses. The Employability Relationship Coordinator role is fundamental to achieving this.

This post will drive the engagement of employers for work placements and tasters and work-related employer and community projects to enhance the employability and progression opportunities for our students. The post will also be a key driver in the Co-Design, Co-delivery model where key employers contribute to our curriculum planning to ensure we are preparing the workforce of the future.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with Academy teams, local and regional employers, and other stakeholders to drive the quality and scope of work experience and T Level placements to achieve outstanding student outcomes.
  • Seek projects in the local community to bring in opportunities for Industry Placements and Mandatory Placements and Full-Time work opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance throughout the engagement and contracting stage including the correct capture of data and the completion of H&S and due diligence checks and the initial collecting of the employer/stakeholder insurance documentation.
  • Increase levels of employer engagement with existing and new organisations in the local business community including Industry Placements and Mandatory Placements and full-time work opportunities.
  • Ensure outstanding levels of compliance, correct capture of data and robust H&S and due diligence check and appropriate seeking of employer insurance documentation.
  • Deliver a high quality, responsive customer focused service to employers.
  • Support the work with departments to implement an effective cross college approach to placements, tasters, paid work, voluntary work, and projects.
  • Support the Employment Services Officers to ensure the employer requirement and need is met as per contract discussion e.g. skills and attributes of learner.
  • Support the development of the curriculum offer with the introduction of employers to delivery staff including the account management.
  • Strive to develop the skills development plan linked to the latest Ofsted report feedback.
  • Act as the main point of contact for college students (excluding apprentices) with employers.
  • Be a key driver in the cross-college Co-design Co-delivery project including the obtaining of external stakeholder leads.
  • Develop productive working relationships with employers to achieve outstanding outcomes for students.
  • Work collaboratively with other departmental teams to raise the profile of the College in the local community.
  • Act as College ambassadors at all times (Internal events, External Events and Online).

What we can offer you

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £31,885 - £35,849 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
