We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves, and our learners and this role will be a key one in supporting the college’s mission to be consistently great and ensure our students get the qualifications and skills they need to go further in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training, and university level courses. The Employability Skills & Placement Officer role is fundamental to achieving this. The service Industry academy are looking for a part time autonomous and dynamic individual to work across the Hillsborough and City campuses. Ideal candidates will have experience in animal care and land based studies or hair and beauty or early years and childcare to enable them to support the work readiness of our learn Key Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring that learners gain high quality placements, experiences of work and placement tasters. Engage with learners to identify challenges and collaboratively find solutions for successful placements. Collaborate with curriculum teams, employers, and support staff to set and review employability targets and support learners in monitoring their progress. Manage a case load of vacancies and candidates including shortlisting student applications, and liaise with employers to set up student interviews. Visit students in the workplace to provide training, support, and assessment.
