Key Objectives
- Lead implementation of the college's improvement approaches related to teaching, learning and assessment.
- Lead on the professional development approaches of all teachers and delivery staff, ensuring excellence is the norm at the college.
- Lead and implement approaches and methods related to education technology, ensuring technology is harnessed and improves outcomes for all provision types.
- Contribute to sustained performance improvement across all provision types.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the College Leadership Team's common goals.
- Provide visionary and creative leadership of teaching, learning and assessment across all college provision.
- Contribute and support the implementation of the college's approaches for teaching, learning and assessment.
- Develop practices that foster continuous improvement to ensure high quality teaching, learning and assessment for all students.
- Be research-focused and promote a culture of excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring staff access to up-to-date knowledge and research related to pedagogy.
- Develop advanced teaching and learning practitioners to enhance teaching, learning and assessment practices.
- Support and advise on all matters regarding teaching, learning and the student experience to improve quality continuously.
- Lead the recruitment and induction of new teachers, using advanced practitioners to support new teachers to flourish.
- Oversee development and implementation of policies, procedures and quality initiatives linked to teaching, learning and assessment.
- Integrate and promote digital learning technologies in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Create a culture of support and appropriate learning environments that encourage experimentation with learning technology.
- Lead and manage the E‑Learning Team in cost‑effective deployment of technology‑enhanced learning.
- Undertake research that supports innovative teaching, learning and assessment practices.
- Undertake scholarly activities for continual professional updating.
- Use data analysis at Academy level to support and improve outcomes and provide regular management information.
- Collaborate with the People Development Manager to plan and implement continuing professional development initiatives for teachers and curriculum staff.
- Provide dynamic leadership to inspire staff to achieve high standards of performance.
- Support business planning, ensuring strategic plans for teacher development align with the college's business procedures and budgetary planning.
