Shakespeare’s Globe is looking for a Library & Archive Coordinator to join our Education team. We are looking for a Library & Archive Coordinator on a permanent, part-time basis to help make our collections welcoming, accessible and useful to a wide range of people.
The role involves working as part of the Library & Archive team with the Education Department. You’ll support the day-to-day running of the service, help care for and catalogue our collections, respond to enquiries, and assist students, researchers, artists and members of the public using our resources. You’ll also contribute to research, education and public engagement activities, helping us widen access to the Library & Archive and encourage people to explore and critically engage with Shakespeare’s living legacy.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, collaborative and confident communicating with different audiences. You’ll have some experience of working in a library and/or archive, an understanding of caring for archival material and copyright, and an interest in developing a career in the sector. An interest in theatre, theatre history or Shakespeare is also welcomed.
Please note: This is an on-site role at Shakespeare’s Globe. The postholder will work two regular consecutive days each week, on days when the Reading Room is open for reader appointments.
We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and the Global Majority are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single specification. If you’re excited about the role but your experience or qualifications don’t perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as the global majority, LGBTQA+, those from a working-class background, those with a disability and neurodiverse conditions.
Shakespeare’s Globe uses Shakespeare’s enduring relevance to ignite the power of theatre to spread empathy and launch cultural experiences that inspire hope at every stage of people’s lives. Our vision is to be the world’s most exciting centre for Shakespeare and theatre experiences.
