Commercial Manager Logistics, London, c£50k + Car Allowance + Bonus
My client is an established, successful and reputable logistics business delivering integrated transport, warehousing, customs and groupage services.
They operate an extensive fleet of owned trucks and trailers and managing more than 1.5 million square feet of warehousing.
There has been consistent investment, strong operational performance, and long-standing relationships with major customers across FMCG, retail and beyond.
This is a newly created key commercial role, responsible for driving new business and revenue growth across the Group's full range of services transport, warehousing, customs clearance and groupage for customers across London and the South East.
Unlike many sales roles where you're restricted to a single service, you'll be able to offer customers a genuine end-to-end logistics solution covering transport, warehousing, customs and distribution.
While the role spans the full Group portfolio, there is particular scope to support the Group's expanding warehousing capability, and prior experience in warehousing or contract logistics would be a valuable asset in this role.
The role: - Develop and execute a commercial strategy to drive new business and revenue growth across the Group's full-service portfolio, including transport, warehousing, customs clearance and groupage.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities across a broad range of sectors.
Identify and convert opportunities spanning the UK pallet network, groupage distribution, full and part-load transport, warehousing and storage solutions, and integrated customs services.
Establish long-term customer relationships that underpin consistent revenue and margin across multiple service lines.
Work closely with operations to ensure successful onboarding and scalable account development.
Contribute to pricing, solution design and commercial structuring to ensure profitable growth across the Group.
Develop opportunities around Heathrow and the wider West London air freight corridor, including time-critical and AEO-compliant customs movements.
In the right candidate they are looking for: - Proven experience in a commercial or business development role within logistics, transport or supply chain.
Experience within warehousing or 3PL is highly valued and would be considered a strong advantage.
Strong understanding of the London and the South East logistics market, with an established network.
A commercially focused professional with the ability to develop and convert opportunities into long-term, multi-service business.
Experience structuring and negotiating commercially sound solutions across transport, warehousing and customs.
Credible, relationship-led approach with the ability to operate at both operational and senior stakeholder level.
Experience with Heathrow-area logistics and main airport-related freight movements is highly valued.
Familiarity with Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) processes and compliant customs handling is a strong advantage.
Experience within the medtech or life sciences sector is beneficial, given the precision and compliance requirements of this customer base.
