My client is an established engineering company looking to add a new additional Maintenance Engineer to join their team. They are looking for somebody with both electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
Responsibilities:
- Safe operation oversight: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of overhead gantry cranes and associated systems to a high standard.
- Preventive maintenance scheduling: Plan, schedule, and carry out preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain asset reliability.
- Contractor control: Manage and oversee contractors on site, ensuring compliance with company procedures, permits, and safety standards.
- Plant and equipment maintenance: Maintain all plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Maintenance records: Keep accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- Work planning: Organise maintenance activities around production requirements to minimise disruption.
- Working at height: Carry out tasks safely at height in accordance with training and regulations. IPAF license holder.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in line with good practice, legal requirements, and company standards.
Technical Skills:
- Fault diagnosis: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, interpreting electrical diagrams and machine error data.
- Lifting equipment servicing: Repair and service hoists and lifting equipment.
- Spare parts management: Purchase and manage essential spares to ensure rapid response to breakdowns.
- Cost reduction initiatives: Support cost reduction through improved design, supplier engagement, and engineering solutions.
You will have a proven track record in maintenance engineering gained within a manufacturing / engineering environment. Supporting qualifications would be beneficial. Able to work independently and make sound engineering decisions. Strong communication skills across departments and with external contractors. Fully flexible approach to responsibilities and changing operational needs. Days based role 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. You must currently reside in the United Kingdom and hold full right to work. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
