Press Toolmaker Telford / Shrewsbury Up to £19 per hour Hours: 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 12.00pm on Friday My client is a manufacturing company supporting and supplying a variety of industries. They are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Press Toolmaker to join their busy Toolroom team. You will play a key role in maintaining, repairing and improving press tools to ensure optimum production performance, quality and reliability. This is a hands-on position requiring strong toolmaking skills, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment. • Repair, maintain and service a wide range of press tools (single stage and progression tooling). • Carry out preventative maintenance activities in line with tool maintenance schedules. • Diagnose tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions. • Support production departments by responding to tool breakdowns and quality concerns. • Conduct tool strip-downs, inspections and rebuilds. • Manufacture and fit replacement tool components using conventional toolroom machinery. • Assist with tool modifications and continuous improvement projects. • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required engineering standards. Candidate Requirements: - • Time-served Toolmaker, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification. • Strong knowledge of press tooling maintenance and repair. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Experience with conventional toolroom machinery, including milling, grinding and turning machines. • Good understanding of tooling materials and heat treatment processes. • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexible approach to supporting production requirements. Desirable skills / knowledge but no a necessity: - • Experience within automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments. • Welding and fabrication experience. • CNC machining knowledge. • Experience with progression tooling.
