My manufacturing / production client is looking to add to their Maintenance Department and wish to recruit a proven Maintenance Engineer. You will be responsible for resolving efficiently and effectively the day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance of machines and associated value-added processes, attend breakdowns, log all work completed on the maintenance system.

Carry out planned and preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with the maintenance plan. Build strong key relationships with Department managers and Shop floor operatives through clear concise communication. Be proactive in your approach to problems and subsequent counter measures. Follow all health and safety legislation and company rules when undertaking the role.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Carry out all duties within the scope of the Company mission and values and to support and encourage practices to meet this end.
  • Carry out work in a safe manner, following correct procedure.
  • Ensure all breakdowns are kept to a minimum.
  • Follow best mechanical and electrical engineering practices.
  • Ensure all planned work is completed with minimal disruption to production.
  • Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest standards both from yourself and others within the team.
  • Carry out work to the highest standard and have pride in your work.
  • Log all work carried out on the maintenance system.
  • Own all critical spares and ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • All parts used or replaced are to be logged.
  • Overtime both planned and reactive will be expected to support the business.
  • Report any potential problems to the Plant Manager and Production Manager.
  • Assist in improvement projects within the department and general factory.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • City and Guilds or BTEC in an engineering discipline and/or Time served.
  • Electrical knowledge for circuitry and fault finding.
  • PC skills for maintenance system and for Machine operation systems.
  • Worked within a manufacturing environment with precision machinery.
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Fault finding within mechanical and electrical environment.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of machinery electrical and electronic circuits and systems.

Training on and with current machinery and plant will be given during probation period and support from all team members will be offered to allow successful transition into business. Training for further specific job-related tasks that require training will be offered once probation period has been successfully passed.
