Maintenance Engineer, Redditch, up to Β£40kMy client is an established manufacturing company based in Redditch. They are looking to add to their team by recruiting a new member to their maintenance team. They require a Maintenance Engineer who is a skilled, multi-disciplined engineer responsible for keeping production equipment and site services running safely and at full capability. The role is electrically biased, with strong mechanical and pneumatic competence across a varied manufacturing machines and associated equipment.You will respond to breakdowns fast, plan and execute the PPM programme diligently, and works across the site without the need for close supervision. The ability to think clearly under production pressure, coordinate effectively with colleagues across departments, and know when to escalate is as important as the technical skill itself. The role ranges from fault-finding a PLC fault, carrying out a planned electrical inspection, managing a contractor on site and updating the CMMS before the shift ends. Electrical Maintenance Carry out electrical work in compliance with IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671); complete test and inspection records accurately and maintain electrical documentation for all plant.*Programme, interrogate and modify PLC logic where required Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley and similar platforms common in the press shop environment.*Manage and test safety-related electrical systems light curtains, two-hand controls, interlocks, emergency stops ensuring compliance with PUWER, Machinery Directive and relevant British Standards at all times.Mechanical flag non-compliance or deterioration immediately.*provide technical support at machine-side and communicate clearly with production on return-to-service timelines.*Build and maintain equipment history files for each press recording faults, repairs, modifications and inspection outcomes to support the PPM programme and inform future maintenance strategy.Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): -*Execute the PPM schedule as directed by the Maintenance Manager completing tasks on time, to the required standard, and updating the CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) accurately after each visit.*Carry out planned electrical inspections, insulation resistance testing, thermographic scanning and motor condition monitoring as part of the PPM programme.*Complete mechanical PPM tasks: lubrication schedules, filter changes, belt and chain tension checks, coupling inspection, vibration monitoring and wear assessment across the plant estate.*support the Maintenance Manager in prioritising and scheduling remedial work before it becomes a breakdown.*Reactive Maintenance contribute to root cause analysis and the development of permanent corrective actions.*Site-Wide Facilities proactively identify and discuss development needs with the Maintenance Manager.*Contribute to risk assessment review and method statement development for maintenance tasks; Cross-Departmental Coordination: -*Work without close supervision for the majority of the working day managing own priorities, communicating progress and seeking guidance from the Maintenance Manager when needed.*Coordinate effectively with Production Supervisors and Team Leaders when attending machine-side breakdowns communicating clearly on fault status, expected downtime and any production implications.*Work alongside the Press Tool Room team when maintenance and tooling activity overlap changeovers, press alignment, die protection systems maintaining a respectful and collaborative working relationship.*Liaise with the Quality
