My client manufactures metal pressings and assemblies for a wide range of customers. They are looking to expand their team and wish to recruit a proven and experienced Toolmaker.

Responsibilities include:

  • Repairing and maintaining press tools and welding jigs and fixtures.
  • Assisting in solving production problems in the press shop.
  • Complying with the Companies Health and Safety procedures and reporting any Health and Safety issues to the Toolroom Team Leader.
  • Working independently and using initiative.
  • Repairing and maintaining press tools from 45-ton to 400-ton single operation and progression tools.
  • Overseeing any tool/jig modifications when required.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving on tools that are in press.
  • Using all standard toolroom equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Being a good communicator and team player, supporting other members of staff in the toolroom.
  • Filling in the relevant tool notes and returning them to the Toolroom Leading Hand or Toolroom Team Leader.
  • Working overtime if needed due to a tool breakdown or production problems.
  • Carrying out any tasks within the scope and abilities as directed by the Toolroom Manager.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to repair and maintain tools to a high standard.
  • Be able to use manual toolroom equipment such as Surface Grinders, Lathe, Millers, etc.
  • Adhere to housekeeping standards.
  • Assist the Toolroom Team Leader in any task set.
  • Support production in a technical manner.
  • Be a team player and support the other Toolmakers.

39 hours per week from 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays.
