Slitting Machine Operator, Birmingham, up to £14 per hour + Bonus

My client is a manufacturing company supplying high precision metal components to customers across the UK.

Role summary: Setting up and operating metal processing machinery; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

Responsibilities / Tasks: –
Plan machining by studying job cards, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances, and setting up accurately.
Load feed mechanism by lifting material into position.
Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer\’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Document actions by completing job cards.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
When the situation arises, work in other areas as directed.
Comply with the companys Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures.
Safeguard the values under your control and observe the security of the Companys premises, property, and confidential information.

Candidate Requirements: –
The ability to operate metal slitting machinery.
GCSE level or equivalent, good maths is essential.
Good level of fitness.
Teamwork skills.
Problem solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Mechanical and technical skills.
An understanding of health and safety regulations.
Honesty and reliability.
A willingness to work on a flexible basis.
