The Sele School is seeking a motivated and organised Careers Leader to join our supportive and forward-thinking secondary school. This is a flexible part-time opportunity that can work around family life and other commitments while offering the chance to make a genuine difference to students’ futures. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, organising events, and supporting young people to aim high. We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in education, pastoral support, youth work, employer engagement, further or higher education, training, or industry. Previous experience as a Careers Leader is not essential. Funded professional training and support will be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop our careers programme across the school, helping students explore pathways including sixth form, apprenticeships, university, and employment.
  • Organise careers events and employer encounters.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses and education providers.
  • Work with staff to embed careers learning across the curriculum.

Requirements

The Sele School community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and all staff and volunteers are expected to demonstrate this commitment in all aspects of their work. Applicants for this post must be willing to undergo child protection training. A full enhanced DBS check will be undertaken and references will be sought prior to appointment start date.
