Attendance Officer

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly organised Attendance Officer to become a key member of our Wellbeing and Integration Team.

This is far more than an administrative role - it is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people by ensuring every student has the best possible chance to succeed through regular school attendance.

As our Attendance Officer, you will be the proactive in identifying and engaging with parents to build positive relationships that encourage and support excellent attendance.

You'll analyse attendance patterns, identify concerns before they become barriers, work alongside families to overcome challenges, and collaborate closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff and external agencies to improve outcomes for our students.

You will understand that sometimes your role will involve celebrating success and recognising improvement; at other times it will mean having difficult conversations, conducting home visits, or working with safeguarding professionals to ensure vulnerable young people are safe and receiving the support they need.

• What You'll Be Doing
• Championing a culture of excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Monitoring daily attendance and identifying emerging concerns quickly.
• Working with students, parents and carers to remove barriers to attendance.
• Analysing attendance data to drive targeted interventions.
• Supporting safeguarding by responding promptly to unexplained absences.
• Working collaboratively with Heads of Year, SEND, safeguarding staff and external agencies.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with statutory and local authority requirements.
