The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery, located in Gloucester City Centre, provides a nurturing environment for children aged 0-5 years. The nursery is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where children can learn, play, and develop critical social skills. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, we assign each child a dedicated Key Person to ensure personalized attention and foster strong, secure bonds.
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our team on a full-time basis. This on-site role, located in Gloucester, involves nurturing children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering creative and educational activities
- Observing and tracking children’s progress
- Maintaining a safe and engaging environment
- Supporting the emotional and social development of each child
- Collaboration with parents, guardians, and other team members to enhance the learning experience
Qualifications:
- Experience in planning and delivering age‑appropriate educational and creative activities
- Proficiency in observing, assessing, and monitoring children’s development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage with parents or guardians
- Childcare‑focused skills, such as empathy, patience, and a passion for fostering child development
- Ability to ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding regulations
- Relevant childcare qualification, such as Level 3 in Early Years, Childcare, or equivalent
- Experience in a similar nursery or early years setting preferred
- Basic First Aid and safeguarding certification (or willingness to acquire)
Hourly rate / Hours: £15.50-£16 per hour depending on experience. Minimum of 30 hours per week. This is an all year round position.
