The Seaside Boarding House is a modern British restaurant with 9 bedrooms and a bar, set on a cliff overlooking the English Channel. The 60 cover restaurant has spectacular views, and the kitchen and daily changing menu are overseen by Head Chef Seldon Curry.
We are looking for individuals with a knowledge and appreciation for food who are striving to build their career in the hospitality industry.
Job Description:
- Full time position.
- Maintain a high standard of specified work in accordance with the Head Chef's instructions.
- Prepare, cook and serve food delegated as your responsibility, ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times.
- Work as part of a team, keep calm under pressure, have the ambition to succeed and a willingness to learn from senior chefs.
- Assist on other sections and help with other duties when the kitchen is short staffed, in emergencies, and/or when the number of covers require.
- Adhere to company procedures regarding temperature checks, food labelling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations, ensuring that all records are maintained.
- Be punctual for work and report directly to the Head Chef on duty upon arrival in the kitchen, maintaining high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
- Keep high standards of cleanliness in the section where employed and assist in any job regarding hygiene or cleanliness as requested by a senior chef.
- Be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and be fully aware of all Health & Safety procedures, hygiene control and chemicals used in the workplace.
- Understand menu planning, the implementation of stock controls, and the importance of good stock management, which enables the kitchen to meet gross profit.
- Further training in-house or out will be facilitated to help achieve higher qualifications.
Pay: From £12.81 per hour, subject to experience.

Experience: 1 year in a restaurant (required).
