We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts administrator who will manage the day-to-day financial transactions of our business. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, excellent accuracy, and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider finance team. The role will report to the Head of Finance and support the finance team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. This role is essential for helping the business maintain financial accuracy, meet deadlines, and operate efficiently. Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, and maintain accounts payable, purchase orders, and expense claims and obtain authorisation.
- Prepare and issue client sales invoices and credit notes (accounts receivable).
- Reconcile bank accounts, and credit cards (if required).
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Maintain accurate ledgers, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Deal with suppliers queries and payment requests.
- Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems.
- Manage finance-related email inboxes and respond to queries.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding invoices and payments.
- Support auditors and Management accountants during financial audits.
- Input data accurately into accounting software (e.g Client portals and Sage) – complete, and up to date.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial/administrative or finance support role.
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and digital record-keeping (CAFM).
- Proficiency with bookkeeping/accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Confident with Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT Level 2-4 or equivalent (or working towards it).
- Experience within industry/company type.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
