This role isn’t just about keeping things running — it's about identifying what’s broken and rolling up your sleeves to help fix it. You need to be calm under pressure, operationally sharp, and personally invested in creating a healthy, high-performing team culture.

Unique opportunities

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants more than a management job. Our Director is looking for a trusted partner — someone who sees this as a long-term opportunity to grow with the business, with the potential to step into a strategic leadership or partnership role over time.

Responsibilities – (but not limited to)

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, including internal systems, workflows, and processes
  • Work closely with team members and clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and on-time project delivery
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical, sustainable improvements
  • Foster a supportive, solutions-focused team culture — especially during periods of change or challenge
  • Act as a steady, stabilizing presence within the organization during times of uncertainty or transition
  • Partner directly with the Director on strategic initiatives and company-wide improvements
  • Manage a range of office-related tasks, including scheduling customer visits, coordinating with vendors, and supporting general administrative needs

Person Specification

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, or in a similar leadership role
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to remain calm, clear-headed, and decisive in high-pressure or unclear situations
  • A hands-on, proactive mindset — you don’t wait for instructions; you make things better

Beneficial, but not essential

  • Project Management experience
  • Experience managing during periods of team transition or organizational change
  • Background in small-to-mid sized, founder-led companies or startups
  • HR or people operations experience
