Seaking Electrical Ltd is a leading electrical engineering company delivering high-quality marine and industrial electrical systems across the UK.
Our teams are currently supporting major shipbuilding and industrial projects, including new-build vessel electrical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
The Opportunity
We are expanding our team in Hebburn NE31 1SP and have a range of exciting opportunities for skilled Electricians to join us.
Whether your background is in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments, we have roles suited to your experience β from installation through to testing, setting to work, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical installation and containment works (power, lighting, control, and data systems)
- Cable glanding, termination, and testing activities
- Setting to work and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting during system integration and trials
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
- Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards
- Working collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and commissioning teams
- Time-served electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical work
- Competent in installation, testing, and fault-finding
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong awareness of electrical safety and compliance with regulations
- Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy shipyard or industrial environment
- ECS or JIB Gold Card
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- 2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent
- Experience with control systems, automation, or switchboard testing
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures and documentation
- Comp Ex certification (advantageous but not essential)
