The Scottish National Investment Bank is seeking an Associate to join our Innovation Investment Origination team, helping to shape investments that deliver long-term financial and strategic impact for Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Bank’s investment team, supporting origination and execution across a diverse portfolio of innovation related transactions. You will play a key role in financial and impact modelling, due diligence, and transaction management, helping to drive investments that align with the Bank’s mission-led approach.

About You
- Experience in investment, transaction advisory, corporate finance, or a related field, with a solid foundation in financial analysis and modelling.
- A highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Developed analytical and commercial skills, with experience structuring and presenting investment opportunities.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A keen interest in mission-driven investment and the ability to assess opportunities through both financial and impact lenses.
- A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is desirable, as is a professional qualification such as CFA or CA (or working towards one).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the origination and assessment of investment opportunities, contributing to investment papers and presentations.
- Develop and refine financial, commercial valuation, and impact models to support decision-making.
- Conduct research and due diligence to evaluate risks and opportunities in potential transactions.
- Lead on investment administration, including system updates, document management, and KYC processes.
- Engage with industry stakeholders to build professional networks and support active deal origination.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives and projects that enhance the Bank’s investment approach.
