The Scottish National Investment Bank is seeking a Fund Controller to play a pivotal role within our Investment Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission by ensuring the seamless flow and reporting of investment data throughout the lifecycle of our investments.

Reporting to the Director of Investment Operations, you will support the Bank's middle office by managing cash flows, coordinating investment data, and providing critical support for investment valuations in accordance with IFRS 9 and IPEV standards. Your expertise will be essential in administering equity and debt investments, liaising with Finance on investment income, and maintaining the integrity of our investment management systems.

As the Bank is now FCA-regulated, you will ensure compliance with financial crime legislation and play a key role in managing both individual and portfolio valuations. Your ability to manage complex cash flows, conduct mathematical analyses, and enhance our forecasting systems will be invaluable to our success.

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of investment valuations, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9 and IPEV.
  • Support the Bank’s investment portfolio forecasting, maintaining model integrity, and liaising with finance team to help deliver the core Financial Planning and Analysis output.
  • Manage the release of investment funds, ensuring all contractual and legal requirements are met.
  • Oversee the tracking and calculation of investment income, including interest payments and dividend receipts.
  • Maintain and enhance the Bank’s investment management systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other internal teams to monitor and report on investment performance.
  • Support the Bank's compliance with FCA Conduct Rules and participate in mandatory training.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in investment operations, ideally within private equity. An accounting qualification and current membership of a relevant professional accounting body is required. Extensive experience in asset management, with a solid understanding of FCA regulations and IPEV standards is essential. Well-developed technical skills, particularly in Excel, with experience in private markets investment management systems are necessary. A keen awareness of risk and controls, with the ability to apply this knowledge to the investment lifecycle is important.
