Overview
You are who we are looking for to join our newly created Corporate Hub if you have experience of leading a team through periods of change and transformation. Our newly created function, which will evolve into the future delivery platform for many of the services provided, sits within DG Corporate. The Corporate DG provides a wide range of services to core SG directorates, public bodies as well as some Non Departmental Public Bodies, Non Ministerial Departments, inquiries and other bodies. Transforming our HR & Finance capabilities, enabled by the implementation of Oracle Cloud, is a hugely significant first step in creating the Corporate Hub. This new SaaS product needs to be supported by a new operating model, maintenance regime, and update practices. Oracle Cloud will go through quarterly updates, with a repeatable process. These processes are new to SG and need to be developed, embedded and optimised so that the quarterly update is manageable and not disruptive to business as usual.
As the Platform Management Lead, your role will also encompass the SaaS platform Service Owner (DDaT) role and will include ownership of the service roadmap with accountability for the ongoing change and upgrade process, continuous improvement and governance of the service.
Responsibilities
- You will lead the ongoing evolution of the service, embracing agile ways of working to support the repeatable and efficient delivery of upgrade, maintenance and change activities.
- You will lead on the delivery of the service roadmap engaging with specialist areas e.g. Cyber Security as required and leading the network of business stakeholders.
- You will support the development of agile business cases to support the ongoing evolution and improvement of the service.
- You will be accountable for managing the life cycle of the service efficiently and effectively, managing external and internal partners to achieve good outcomes.
- You will take a lead role in the onboarding of new service customers.
- You will work closely with the operational management teams to co-ordinate and plan ongoing change.
- You will work to continuously improve the operational efficiency of the platform.
- You will work closely with leaders of operational delivery teams in digital, data and technology.
- You can anticipate problems and defend against them at the right time by employing robust testing practices and processes.
- You will work with architecture and business colleagues in developing a long-term vision and objectives for the service.
- In planning change activity you will employ a disciplined approach focusing on what is important and most relevant.
- You will help build and develop the team, creating a small multi-disciplinary change and support team.
- You will lead on the development and maintenance of platform training content in partnership with Directorates.
