The Business Management and Performance Unit (BMPU) sits with the Corporate Support Branch of the Corporate Services Division. The Corporate Services Division within Food Standards Scotland (FSS) provides a range of services to deliver its statutory obligations and five-year strategy. These services include HR, Finance and Procurement, IT, Facilities Management, Private Office, Health and Safety and Administrative Support. The BMPU consists of the Business Planning and Performance Reporting and Information Governance functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support production of key BMPU output reports.
  • Support the BMPU in creating and maintaining governance documentation i.e. Risk Registers.
  • Manage diary and the BMPU inbox proactively.
  • Organise and prepare meetings and events, prioritising tasks and coordinating activity.
  • Contribute as a team member to the ongoing development of the BMPU.
  • Undertake general administrative duties and assist colleagues as required, including admin duties.

Working pattern

Our standard working hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the post. This role is hybrid compatible. If you have specific questions about the role you are applying for, please contact us.

Security checks

Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks – Identity, Right to work, Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
