This is a contract, hybrid Assistant Psychologist role based primarily in Wolverhampton, with a combination of on‑site school visits and some work from home for administration and report writing. The Assistant Psychologist will support qualified psychologists in delivering assessments, interventions, and consultations within schools. Typical tasks include:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting children and young people with additional educational needs
  • Ability to assist with Psychological Assessment, including administering basic standardised measures under supervision, recording observations, and handling data securely
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear report writing and presentation of findings to non‑specialists
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload across multiple schools
  • Comfort with hybrid working, including proficiency with common digital tools (e.g., secure email, online meeting platforms, electronic record‑keeping)
  • Experience in school, child, or educational settings is highly desirable; prior work with diverse communities and additional needs is an advantage
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive practice, and willingness to engage in supervision and ongoing professional development
