Job Description
The focus of The School of Life’s in-house design team is the creative work for the company’s marketing, events, digital, therapy and ‘At Work’ departments. As a Junior Designer you will be responsible for creating compelling visuals that help our clients and customers on their journey to better mental wellbeing. You’ll support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent brand standards across all touch points. This is a 6 month, full time, fixed term contract.
You’ll be responsible for translating briefs into impactful designs across our business areas. This includes:
- Creating and art-working assets across multiple departments including therapy, digital subscription, TSOL ‘At Work’, retail & product, and multi-channel campaigns
- Graphic design for event/workshop materials such as brochures, interactive PDFs, and informational guides that are both professional and approachable
- Designing digital assets for our website and app, including UI elements, icons, and promotional graphics
- Managing the end-to-end design process from brief to delivery, including timeline planning and stakeholder management
- Sourcing and managing relationships with print vendors to ensure high-quality physical materials
- Maintaining project schedules and ensuring all deadlines are met across multiple business areas
- Attending key meetings with the wider brand team, liaising closely with the Head of Customer Marketing, Head of Marketing for TSOL ‘At Work’ and Partnerships Marketing Manager
Skills
Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across print and digital design / Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and Photoshop) / Experience with digital design tools like Figma or Sketch (nice to have) / Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines / A digital-first approach with knowledge of preparing files for a multitude of requirements – print preparation would also be an added bonus / Strong typographic, layout and design skills displayed through an impressive portfolio
Experience
2+ years of graphic design experience / BA (Hons) in Graphic Design or related subject
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail / Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders / Proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude / Interest in wellbeing and mental health
