Compliance Officer in Rochdale

Salary: £28,392 per annum full time (point 24)

Job Overview

Sanctuary Trust is seeking an organised and proactive Compliance Officer to support and strengthen compliance, health and safety, governance, and risk management arrangements across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with compliance, health and safety, or administrative experience who is looking to develop a varied and rewarding career within the charity sector.

Duties

• Support the organisation’s health and safety systems, records, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
• Carry out regular site visits across Greater Manchester and North Wales to ensure projects are operating in line with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance records, registers, and key documentation.
• Manage compliance calendars, training records, certifications, and audit schedules.
• Oversee the eLearning system and monitor staff compliance training.
• Support risk assessment processes and maintain the organisational risk register.
• Assist with internal and external audits, inspections, and monitoring visits.
• Coordinate contractor compliance and waste management requirements.
• Support the management of organisational assets, repairs records, and compliance systems.
• Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in Health & Safety, Compliance, or a related administrative role.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as regular travel between Sanctuary Trust sites is required.
