Our services have a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and enable access to safe accommodation options, holistic case management, community outreach programs, and programs that teach vital independent living skills. About the role
- Promote social inclusion by delivering school holiday programs, recreational activities, and community events (e.g. NAIDOC Week and IDAHOBIT Day)
- Facilitate weekly residents’ meetings at Upton Road properties and conduct exit interviews with Youth Services clients
- Lead the Upton Road Social Enterprise Initiative, creating education and employment pathways through the monthly Seedling Sale and key stakeholder partnerships
- Support the upkeep of the Upton Road permaculture gardens and encourage youth participation in weekly gardening programs
- Coordinate the Young Experienced Leaders (YEL) group, supporting regular meetings and sector development initiatives informed by young people’s lived experience
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in social sciences, welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred
- Relevant experience in a social service environment
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- A national police record check is required
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check
