Relief Café Assistant

Nunhead Salvation Army Church & Community Centre is looking for a Relief Café Assistant to be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy and vibrant Café.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and set up the café launch.
  • Take orders, serve customers, and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Use the coffee machine confidently and manage customer payments using the cash register.
  • Assist with cashing up at the end of the day as directed.
  • Maintain all areas, including tables, to a tidy, clean and hygienic standard, ensuring tables are cleared and cleaned promptly.
  • Assist Café volunteers to work safely and effectively in the preparation, serving, and cleaning of the café.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of taking orders, preparing, and serving food.
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience using a coffee machine and cash register.
