  • We are seeking a

Commercial Solicitor to join our Legal Services team.

This is a high-impact role providing strategic legal advice across a diverse, mission-led organisation, with a particular focus on high-value commercial and technology contracts.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver pragmatic legal solutions that support operational delivery while effectively managing risk.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Lead and advise on complex commercial and technology contracts across a broad range of operational areas.
  • Provide clear, practical and accessible legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Take a pragmatic, solution-focused approach, balancing legal risk with operational needs.
  • Undertake work in a wide range of legal areas, including charity law, company law, intellectual property, employment, property, and disputes resolution, pensions and litigation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and advise on issues of strategic importance to the organisation.
  • Contribute to legal training and capability-building across the organisation.

About you

You will be

  • A qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate.
  • Bringing 4+ years' PQE with extensive experience and training in commercial law.
  • Experienced in advising on complex commercial and technology agreements.
  • A clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex issues simply.
  • Solution-focused, with strong judgement and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Able and willing to work and be empathic with the Christian values of The Salvation Army.

Desirable

  • Experience in charity law.
  • Experience in commercial disputes.
  • Experience of attending or being a member of a charity or other governance board.
