Role Description
Salisbury Museum is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our team at a pivotal moment in our organisational development. Following our £5.1 million redevelopment – supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund – we're building on significant success and looking to strengthen our finance function. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a mission-driven cultural organisation.
About the Role
- 21 hours per week | competitive salary
- You’ll manage all aspects of our financial operations: accounts reconciliation, payroll administration, VAT and Gift Aid returns, and financial reporting. Working within a small, collaborative team, you’ll be central to our operational success.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Finance Officer or equivalent in a busy office environment
- Proficiency with Xero (essential) and knowledge of VAT and payroll processing
- Excellent numeracy, organisational and IT skills
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and flexibly within a team environment
Desirable
- Experience in the charity or heritage sector
- Knowledge of membership database systems
- Interest in museums and local history
