Our client is seeking a Commissioning / Installation Engineer from an industrial equipment background.
Package: Excellent Negotiable Salary + Quarterly Bonus, Company Vehicle, Pension etc.
Area / location: Flexible Central England Home Base (Near an Airport) with UK Remit.
Brief job description: Our Client, a Global Leader in the supply, installation and support of Industrial Vacuum furnaces, are expanding their UK based Service Team. They are currently looking for Commissioning / Service Engineers ideally located in Central England. The position requires travel throughout the UK and Europe. The successful candidate would be mainly based in the UK and should be expecting to be away from home Monday to Friday if the site is not within travelling distance of their home. There is also the possibility of periods of overseas work where the engineer would be expected to be away for up to 4-5 weeks, anytime above this would be agreed between the engineer and their manager beforehand. A team of engineers share the overseas work and would not be left to one engineer.
This role is ideally suited to a person with an electro/mechanical maintenance background wanting to get into the service / installation industry. The role will primarily be to supervise installation contractors while the equipment is being installed and then take the equipment through the site acceptance tests; however, there will be service work required as well from time to time.
The successful applicant will have the following technical capabilities:
- Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification C&G or equivalent.
- Understand electrical schematics.
- Understand mechanical drawing.
- Fault finding and regular maintenance functions of mechanical assemblies, drives, pumps etc.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, water, hydraulic & electrical systems and their functions.
- Working knowledge of temperature control instrumentation, inverters, PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC programmes. Experience with other types will be considered.
- Experience with fault finding PLC programs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programmes.
Additional skills / qualifications that would be advantageous but not essential as product training will be given:
- Knowledge of vacuum technology would be an advantage.
- BS th Edition Qualification.
- C&G Initial and periodic inspection and testing.
- Ability to modify PLC programs to instructions given by the engineering department.
