One of our clients has an exciting and challenging role providing 2nd / 3rd Line Support / Systems Administration for 2 sites in the UK in a mixed Windows / Linux environment with preferred candidates having strong virtualisation and networking skills. 12 month fix term contract, on site that could become perm. Not essential but preferred candidates will come from a financial / banking (manufacturing) support background. This is a office based role, you will be required to travel when needed to other sites. Candidates are required to have a range and depth of technical knowledge along with an unrivalled troubleshooting ability as you’ll take ownership of incidents from start to finish and be covering a number of different areas from front to back end as opposed to passing it on and escalating to other teams. Required Skills: * Troubleshooting ability 2nd to none – someone who enjoys the technical challenge and finding resolutions to complex problems. * Experience providing Application Support including installation / configuration, upgrading and troubleshooting both in person and remotely (via phone, e-mail, IM). * Strong knowledge of virtualisation – VMWare. * SQL, being confident troubleshooting SQL performance issues – SQL Server. * Strong background in Windows and ideally some Linux/Unix OS’s including supporting numerous Applications on mixed Windows / Linux Server platforms. * Some Linux / Unix Systems Administration (Redhat, Centos) highly desirable. * Advanced Networking / Infrastructure Troubleshooting and Diagnostics – DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls * Good understanding / operational experience of ITIL methodology with any certifications beneficial. * Ability work well under pressure in an exciting technological environment. Non-Essential But Highly Desirable Skills: * Previous experience supporting air gapped networks. * Understanding of automation tools such as infrastructure as code (ansible). * Linux / Unix System Administration – RedHat + Ubuntu. * Knowledge of PCI CPP standards. * Experience in Deployment tools such as MDT and WDS Work Location: London, Wembley + Business requirements for Milton Keynes
