The Salad Project is building the best salad bar in the world. In five years we have grown to 15 stores across London, serving over 12,000 salads a day, raising £10M from a world-class group of investors, and winning UberEats Restaurant of the Year. We have been named one of the FEBE Top Growing Companies in the UK and built a customer following that borders on fanatical.

We are not building a nice London salad chain. Salad bars are not a new idea; they have existed for decades in canteens, supermarkets and food courts, and almost nobody has ever tried to make one truly great. That is exactly the opportunity. We are not inventing a category; we are taking one that has been overlooked for forty years and building the best version of it the world has seen.

We open in Paris in September 2026, our first move into Europe, with aggressive plans to expand across the continent and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to lead the marketing of a brand with genuine global ambition at the exact moment it starts to scale internationally.

We are looking for a Marketing Director to own the full marketing function, lead a growing team across multiple markets, and drive both brand and commercial growth. You will sit at the leadership table, set the strategy, and be equally comfortable shaping bold brand moves and holding the team accountable to hard numbers.

This role comes with real autonomy. The founders have led marketing to this point, and we are looking for someone to take full ownership of it from us. You will have the mandate, the budget and the freedom to make the calls, and we will back you to drive genuine impact rather than ask you to seek permission for it.

What You Will Own

  • Brand partnerships: Set the ambition and direction for partnerships that elevate The Salad Project into a cultural leader in Europe.
  • Brand-owned campaigns: Own the ambition and the creative bar for our own campaigns, ensuring they punch above our size.
  • Brand and content: Set the brand vision, positioning and tone, and hold the team accountable for delivering it consistently.
  • Growth and performance: Own the commercial targets across the full acquisition and retention funnel.
  • New site launches: Own the go-to-market strategy for every new opening and carry accountability for footfall from day one.
  • International expansion: Own the marketing strategy for Paris and the European rollout that follows.
  • Team leadership: Lead a team of five, setting the vision, owning the budget, and developing the people in it.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A substantial track record of leading and managing a marketing team, with evidence of building brand and delivering measurable commercial growth.
  • Sector background: Consumer brands, ideally in fitness, wellness, fashion or tech.
  • Challenger mindset: Think like a challenger, competing on ideas, speed and distinctiveness.
  • Marketing leadership: Proven ability to lead teams across both brand and performance.
  • Multi-market Experience: Launching or scaling across multiple locations, ideally internationally.
  • European outlook: At home across the continent, fluent in its cultures and consumers.
  • Brand instinct: A genuine feel for culture, lifestyle and how great brands live in people's everyday lives.
  • Founder mindset: Entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, and built for a fast-moving, high-ambition business.

Nice to Have

  • Strong working knowledge across some or all of the following: Digital marketing, Advertising campaign planning and buying, Out of home, Social media, Loyalty programmes, Product launches, A deep understanding of AI and how it is changing marketing.

Why Join Us

  • Lead the marketing of one of the UK's most exciting food brands, at the moment it goes global.
  • Take full ownership of marketing from the founders, with the autonomy and backing to make real decisions.
  • Join a business backed by a world-class investor group, with £10M raised.
  • Take a seat at the leadership table with real ownership across brand, growth and international strategy.
  • Lead a team of five across brand, performance and markets, with genuine scope to build it further.
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a business with serious growth ahead.
  • Help build what we genuinely believe will be the best salad bar in the world.
