We are recruiting an energetic and driven Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful, satisfactory and value-driven project delivery of financial technology projects. This role requires someone with experience in project management, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to build and mature a growing delivery team. The Senior Project Manager will lead customer projects, act as a key escalation point for client issues, manage and coach junior project managers, and help shape how our delivery function evolves as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects to the ION delivery methodology, ensuring our teams and customers perform tasks, deliver the appropriate outcomes, and achieve sign-off at the appropriate points of the project.
  • Work with our teams and customers to define clear roles and responsibilities and agree the best way to work together throughout the project.
  • Collaboratively design a plan that represents the delivery of the project with our teams and customers.
  • Resource the project with the required skills and expertise based on availability and delivery targets.
  • Execute the required processes for identification and remedy of risks, issues and changes throughout the project.
  • Set up and execute reporting requirements to provide trackable progress and insight to Directors and customers.
  • Actively monitor time and quality targets and take any required actions or management steps.
  • Monitor financial and quality objectives, ensure delivery meets commercial targets, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Take ownership of client changes, working proactively with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve challenges and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and contribute to the ongoing development of ION's delivery methodology, drawing on software PM best practices.
  • Report to project executive leadership and participate in issue resolution, planning and guiding the project.
  • Provide line management to Project Managers, including coaching, guidance, and performance development to continually improve delivery quality and team capability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in project management.
  • Experience using Project Management software.
  • Understands basic commercial and revenue models, including invoicing, revenue recognition, margin and costs, and analysing variances with corrective actions.
  • Competent in use of different project methodologies.
  • Multi-customer portfolio delivery experience is desirable.
  • Exemplar project management delivery and engagement skills with strong understanding of the delivery process lifecycle.
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organisational skills.
  • Previous stakeholder management skills with confidence and gravitas in front of clients, project teams and third parties.
  • Experience supporting the development of junior team members is desirable.
