Permanent, Term Time Only plus 1 additional day. 30.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.40am - 3.15pm. NJC Scale Points 3 - 6, £25,614 - £26,846 per annum. Actual Salary £17,797 - £18,653 per annum. Required from September 2026.

The Governors are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Teaching Assistants to join our Catholic primary school at Sacred Heart, Ilkley. We are looking for someone to provide support to children with additional needs. Experience is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who have numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent level) and who are:

  • Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum as designated by the teacher
  • Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff
  • Flexible in approach and able to adapt to working with both groups and individual pupils
  • Willing to help with activities both in the classroom and across the school
  • Professional, responsible and aware of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
