About Us
We’re looking for a talented Events Manager to join our Events and Experiences team. This is a rare opportunity to plan and deliver internal and external events that help drive connection, collaboration and knowledge sharing across multiple locations, time zones and disciplines. Our internal events play a key role in helping to shape and amplify Google DeepMind’s culture , enabling collaboration and celebrating key moments for the organisation at an important stage of our journey. Our external facing events allow us to showcase our groundbreaking technology and products, develop partnerships, build trust and advocacy and attract top class talent.
The Role
This is a 9 month fixed term contract opportunity to join our Events and Experiences team who sit in MTV and London. You will also partner with other teams across Google DeepMind to plan and manage both internal and external events. Events could include a variety of internal events such as Town Halls, offsites, summits, hackathons, and celebrations to drive collaboration, knowledge sharing and connection. There will also be some external events such as product launches and tech weeks.
Key responsibilities:

Managing a range of events in the Bay Area for Google DeepMind including a holiday party, workshops, offsites, company wide events, social events, tech weeks and product launches.

Partner with teams across Google DeepMind and Google (Operations, Research, Engineering, Marketing Communications, Brand, People and Culture) to ensure seamless event planning and execution.

Project managing multiple often complex projects at one time.

Evolving the format of existing events.

Developing creative concepts in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies.

Applying your events industry knowledge and experience to help improve and evolve the GDM event experience.

Cultivating relationships; communicating with senior leaders, stakeholders, and managing external partners and vendors.

Managing budgets.

Managing onsite including possible international travel.

Ensuring events are compliant with all health and safety, regulatory and other governance.
About You
You are a motivated, friendly, curious and approachable individual with solid events experience, who wants to work for a fast-paced and ambitious company with events playing an integral part to its success. You should be a strong all-round events professional with great project management skills and a good understanding of all aspects of event management, and a keen interest in employee engagement and building cultural programs.
