Director, Compute Partnerships EMEA

Mission: Drive the successful delivery, performance, and growth of Groq’s compute partnerships, overseeing the entire operational lifecycle—from planning through deployment to sustained delivery.

Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:

1. Partnership Execution

  • Build trusted relationships across Groq and Partners, ensuring alignment on objectives and coordinated execution across Engineering, Ops, Legal, Finance, and GTM.
  • Deliver end-to-end oversight of the partnership—from capacity planning and deployment to steady-state operations and performance optimization.

2. Capacity Delivery

  • Track and report key metrics: installed capacity, usable capacity, token throughput, and theoretical vs practical capacity gaps.
  • Meet or exceed throughput performance goals and ensure the infrastructure is available for use on schedule.

3. Operational Continuity

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations post-deployment, with no disruptions to planned compute delivery.
  • Coordinate responses to risks, service credits, or performance issues before they escalate.

4. GTM Enablement

  • Partner with GTM to ensure compute delivery supports commercial readiness and customer activation timelines.
  • Align operational capacity with field objectives and revenue targets.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full adherence to SLAs, onboarding terms, and legal obligations (e.g. TCPs).
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks with internal teams and the partner.

  • Operational Leadership – Able to manage complex programs involving multiple teams, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Skilled at aligning diverse teams around shared goals, especially Engineering, GTM, Finance, and Legal.
  • Analytical Rigor – Comfortable with technical metrics and performance modeling (tokens/sec, capacity planning, service credits).
  • Execution-Oriented – Proactive, accountable, and able to drive clarity and outcomes in ambiguous environments.
  • Partner Mindset – Builds trust with external stakeholders; anticipates needs and ensures delivery creates real-world value.
  • Communication – Clear communicator across technical, commercial, and executive audiences.

Ideal candidates have/are:

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic operations, program management, or partnership roles—preferably in AI infrastructure, cloud services, or data center environments.
  • Has led cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, legal, finance, and go-to-market teams, with direct accountability for external delivery.
  • Has worked closely with external partners or customers in complex, high-value deployments—ideally involving SLAs, onboarding, or technical performance metrics.
  • Is operationally rigorous, with strong instincts for tracking performance, surfacing risks early, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Is highly collaborative and excels at aligning technical delivery with business objectives.
  • Has exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and can navigate conversations across senior stakeholders, technical teams, and partner organizations.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity in high-stakes, fast-paced environments. Is resourceful, self-directed, and thrives in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and limited precedent.
  • This person will be required to travel occasionally (up to 25%).
