We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the sales process. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your technical knowledge and customer service skills within a dynamic environment. Duties
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed quotations for clients, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to gather necessary information and clarify project details.
- Assist in upselling opportunities by identifying additional services or products that could benefit clients.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, proposals, and related documentation.
- Follow up with clients regarding quotations, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
- Support the sales team during negotiations to secure contracts and maximise revenue.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new products or services to enhance estimation accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating within a relevant industry; mechanical knowledge is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when required.
- Demonstrated upselling skills to maximise sales opportunities.
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as spreadsheets and estimation programmes.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
