We are also seeking Breeding Wader Surveyors to complete contracts prior to the start of the Seasonal Warden role on the Isle of Anglesey. Would you like to spend the summer working by the sea, watching over a bustling tern colony? If you love seabirds and want to make a real difference to their fortunes, you could be the ideal candidate – a wildlife enthusiast who is self‑motivated, meticulous in data collection and happy to work outside in all weathers and isolated locations.
Responsibilities / Skills Required
- Passionate about birds & wildlife
- Happy to live & work in a small team in a remote location
- Meticulous and thorough in data collection & recording
- Able to work & meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Capable of completing physical tasks on flooded, muddy or uneven land and climbing over uneven rocks
- Good bird identification skills, including Tern species
- Practically‑minded & capable of problem‑solving
- Confident report‑writing
- Happy to work outside in all weather, including at night (Ynys Feurig only)
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of biological data collection
- Full driver’s licence valid for use in the UK (essential for the Inland Sea role)
