We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and hard-working people to work in our café, welcome visitors and maintain visitor standards at RSPB South Stack. Our café and visitor offer is a crucial part of what we do here, encouraging visitors to explore the reserve, and giving them a great visitor experience.
Responsibilities
- Duties will include working in our café serving customers and helping to maintain the high visitor standards of our busy visitor operation.
- You will be able to communicate well with our visitors and offer excellent levels of customer care.
Role and shift patterns: work via rotas; part-time role including weekend and bank holiday working.
Role Details
- Role 1: 8 hour contract working Wednesday & Thursday with an additional 4 contracted hours during peak season on a Friday.
- Role 2: 8 hours contract working Tuesday & Friday with an additional 4 contracted hours during peak season on a Monday.
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts is essential as part of this role.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- Enthusiastic approach to work.
- Excellent verbal communications skills.
- Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback.
- Cash handling.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a supportive and positive team.
- To demonstrate a clear understanding of food hygiene.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.
- To consistently deliver the highest standard of customer service.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Experience of working at a catering environment/visitor attraction.
- An intermediate Food Hygiene level 2 certificate, although training will be given.
- Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
- Confident in the use of tills and payment processes, training will be given.
