Are you an experienced Head of Digital ready for your next challenge? Join the RSA as we embark on the next chapter of our 270-year history of social impact.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Head of Digital to lead and define the RSA’s digital presence and purpose: growing reach, deepening engagement, and helping to connect more people with "the home of ideas”. You’ll be a key member of the RSA leadership team at an exciting and crucial moment; you’ll grow and inspire a diverse global Fellowship community, and the RSA brand itself. You’ll lead a team spearheading all things digital: developing a fantastic website and brilliant digital activity that raises the RSA’s profile and influence, shows its vision, and brings more Fellows (members) into the fold. If you’re someone who loves combining creativity with strategy, someone who can think big with the skills for getting hands-on, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

  • Set and deliver a digital strategy that grows awareness, engagement, and Fellowship through a strong end-to-end customer journey.
  • Lead and develop a cross-functional digital team, overseeing website, content, and digital marketing across paid, organic, and email channels.
  • Use data, insight, and KPIs to continuously improve digital performance, reach, and impact.
  • Champion accessibility, innovation, and emerging digital trends, working closely with creative, events, and Fellowship teams.
  • A creative and strategic thinker, equally comfortable with big-picture planning and hands-on delivery.
  • Collaborative, curious, and supportive, with a people-centred approach.
  • Data-driven while valuing storytelling, impact, and results in equal measure.
  • Proven leadership in digital marketing, content, social media, and website management.
  • Strong understanding of UX, digital design, and analytics, with confidence briefing and managing developers.
  • Experience delivering digital campaigns and reporting on performance.
  • Budget, agency, or freelancer management experience; charity or purpose-led background desirable.
